Fruit update May 2016

Most of the trees survived the winter but a few small ones were blown over when the soil was very saturated. The frosts were a worry but despite them there has been a reasonable set of plums and hopefully apples so we are looking forward to having fruit to pick later in the year – just depends what happens in the June drop.
The following are key dates this year –
Plum Weekend – 20/21 August
Apple Weekend – 8/9 October

We have decided not to have a stall at Pershore Plum Fair this year so if we normally see you there, hope you will call in to the orchard instead.

Do email us if you have any specific queries, otherwise we look forward to seeing you in the summer / autumn

Happy Christmas!

Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas. Thank you for your support during the year. It has been a bumper harvest and we still have over 20 varieties of apple left. If you would like to buy any, please let us know – all now at 40p lb (88p / kg). Our shop is shut until next year’s plum season starts but we are happy to open if we know to expect you.

Orchard News

We have a wide variety of apples left and we are happy to sell in bulk to anyone wanting to juice, make cider etc.

Our shop will be open this weekend but then will close for the winter. However, we are happy to open if we know in advance that you are visiting. Our hampers, ideal for Christmas gifts, are still available on request ( – see a previous post). Our fruit vinegar, jellies etc are available to purchase in the Woodpecker Cafe, as is our very well received apple juice. We at present have two varieties of juice – Red Devil (sweet), Jupiter/Bramley (medium dry). We will be adding a third this week which we intend to call Heritage Apple juice (the juice from classic English Apples eg Blenheim Orange).
