The end of the plum season is rapidly approaching here at Walsgrove. Although we have a wide range of plums available today, there are few left to pick, with only croppers and burbanks to come on.
Apples – Only Katy (an eater) and Grenadier (a cooker) are ready at present but we are hoping that Worcesters and Lambournes will be ripe by about the 8th September, with a range of other varieties following..

Good year for blackberries
We have a lot of ripe, juicy blackberries just waiting to be picked! At 50p/lb PYO or £1.50 ready picked, you can’t go wrong. If you do want them ready picked, ring us on 01905 345371 to ensure there are some ready and waiting for you.
Plums 2012
This is proving to be a poor season for plums as pollination rates were low at blossom time – too cool and windy for the bees to get busy. However, we still have purple and yellow pershores and the Victorias are just ready. The fruit is good quality, just not much of it. Consequently, you won’t see us at the Plum Festival this year. If you are passing though, do call in and PYO.
Plums available for picking
We still have purple and yellow pershore plums. The Victorias are just ready for picking but there will be few this year. We will not be going to the Pershore Plum Festival because the harvest has been so disappointing – still enough for PYO though!
