Fruit update 28th August 2017

Unless Paul finds the odd plum at the top of a tree, Victorias are finished. Croppers and Burbanks are still available but we think that by next weekend, all plums will have finished though there will still be damsons. There are Bramleys and various varieties of eating apples to pick.
This week’s opening times are –
Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 11 – 6pm
Wednesday 10 – 5pm

Fruit w/b 21st August 2017

Thanks to all those who visited us for our Plum Weekend, over £200 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support and our local church. The Spetchley Artists and Cameraderie Camera Club put on a magnificent exhibition.

Victorias are coming to an end. Purple and Yellow Pershore s are few and far between. We have Marjories, Burbanks, Croppers, Warwickshire Droopers, Edwards as well as damsons.
Apples – Bramley, Katy, Worcester, Epicure.
We will be open Monday 21st 11 – 5pm
Tuesday 22nd 10-5pm
Wednesday 11 – 5pm
Thursday 10 – 5
Friday 11 – 5.

Plum Weekend

Just a reminder that it is our plum weekend coming up. Paul will be giving his orchard tours at 11am, 2pm and 4pm on the Saturday and 1pm on the Sunday.

Pictures, Plums and Pimms in the news

We have just appeared in the Worcester Evening News talking about our journey at Walsgrove so far and our Pictures, Plums and Pimms event on August 19 and 20.

The festival will be open from 10am to 6pm on Saturday with orchard tours at 11am, 2pm and 4pm. It will be open from 11am to 5.30pm on Sunday with an orchard tour at 1pm. Pimms will be served at the Woodpecker from 3pm and all donations will go to White Ladies Aston Church roof fund as well as Macmillan Cancer Support.

Fruit update 13th August 2017

This week’s opening times are –

Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th August- 11am – 6pm

Tuesday 16th – Friday 18th 10am – 5pm

We now have PYO  Edwards and Victorias – £1/lb (£2.20/kg)  as well as Purple and Yellow Pershores 70p/lb (£1,54 / kg)

Apples – none to PYO yet. Ready picked – George Cave; Epicure; Katy – some apples are few in numbers this year.

Bramleys are just starting.

Damsons – will be ready probably next w/e.

Next Saturday and Sunday is our Plum Weekend. More details to follow in the next few days eg times for Paul’s walking talks round the orchard. Don’t forget that there will be an Art Exhibition all weekend in The Woodpecker, with the Pictures, Plums and Pimm’s event on the Sunday afternoon from 3 – 5.30pm, raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support and our local church.

Plum update from 9th August 2017

Victorias are plentiful but no PYO yet.

Purple and Yellow Pershores now 70p lb (£1.54 / kg) PYO; £1 lb (£2.20 / kg) ready picked.

Belles PYO and ready picked though coming to their end.

Excalibur ready picked.

Cooking apples should be ready soon.

Plum weekend

Saturday August 19th and Sunday August 20th. This year we are combining this with an art exhibition in the Woodpecker. The Cameraderie Camera Club will be displaying their pictures on both days and the Spetchley Artists will be joining them on the Sunday. Open 10 – 6pm on the Saturday and 11 – 5.30pm on the Sunday with Pimm’s being served that day from 3pm. It is free with donations gratefully received for Macmillan Cancer Support and White Ladies Aston Church.
There will be further details about orchard tours on those days nearer the time.

Victorias are ready!!

This season is proving to be all over the place! We already have some Victorias and more trees will be ready to pick each day now.
Prices for today and in to next week are –
Purple and Yellow Pershores -10lbs (4.5kgs) ready picked £10;
£1.50 per lb (£3.30/kg)) and PYO 90p lb (£1.98/kg)

Swans £1.50 lb (£3.30/kg) No PYO

Czars PYO 50p lb (£1.10/kg) Ready picked £1 lb (£2.20/kg)

Victorias £1.75 lb (£3.85/kg) – no PYO until middle of next week

Fruit from Friday 4th August 2017

We currently are picking the following plums –
Czars, Swans (both sweet eaters), Purple Pershores and Yellow Pershores.
The only apple ready so far is Beauty of Bath (rather sharp).
Runner beans and rhubarb are both also available.
We will be open –

Sunday 6th August 10 – 5pm
Monday 7th August 11 – 6pm
Tuesday 8th August 11 – 6pm
