Fruit update 30th August 2014

Plums are nearly finished! If you haven’t stocked up your freezer or made your jam, don’t delay. We are now picking our last variety – Croppers. They are a black, good sized, tasty eater and an excellent plum for culinary purposes. There are plenty of damsons both for PYO and ready picked and blackberries are still going strong.

Apples are ripening daily. We now have Bramleys, Worcester Pearmain, Katy, Greensleeves, Ellison’s Orange, Fortune, Elstar, James Grieve ready to eat.

A reminder that our apple weekend is October 11th and 12th..

Fruit update 21st August 2014

Plums are going quickly! We are still hoping to have a stall at Pershore Plum Fair on Bank Holiday Monday but will have to assess the situation over the next couple of days. The only Victorias left are high in the trees, as are the Kirke’s Blue. Damsons are ready for picking in some parts of the orchard and we are getting underway with apples. The varieties we have at present are –

Grenadier, James Grieve and Bramley – cookers

Katy, Greensleeves, Elstar, Fortune, Epicure and Tydeman’s Early

Sunday 9th Update

We have plenty of Purple Pershores ready. This is a really tasty plum ideal for eating but also for cooking and jam making. Today we started picking Belles which are large, juicy, sweet plums. We also are picking blackberries and runner beans. Come along and buy PYO or ready picked fruit. Don’t miss out on our newly opened cafe. It is open 10 – 4pm and if you check it out on Facebook, you will see it has excellent reviews.
